Getting a good start can make the difference between a wonderful homeschool learning experience and one of frustration.
From our own personal experience and those of parents we've had discussions with, it seems that the parents who are most successful with their homeschooling are those that have a plan on completing their work daily and stick with that plan.
The most successful homeschool families develop a goal of completing one lesson per course, each week. This goal meets all the criteria for SMART goal setting: S : Specific - Set a specific course completion goal (e.g., 1-2 lessons per course - per week M : Measurable - have fun with your little one designing a goal chart that they can visually track their progress on every day. A : Attainable - You need to take into account that you're little one has a limited attention span at the moment so make sure that the goals are easy to accomplish. R : Relevant - The right pace is different for all the little ones, but you also need to take this opportunity to encourage self discipline. T : Time-Bound: Set a time everyday and stick to it, consider your own responsibilities and what time would work best for you.
